The Hudson Hotel is a chic, trendy and upscale hotel, which is a lovely experience for certain people. Like many establishments in New York, they are known to dim the lights for aesthetics, which does appeal to some but annoy others. Most guests consider the rooms very small, so it is not an ideal place to stay with a bunch of people or with a family. The rooms and bathrooms are kept clean, and the staff provides guests with plush towels. It is in an excellent location for mature and professional types, as it is close to Central Park, the MoMA and Columbus Circle. There is a stylish bar in the Hudson, but that tends to get crowded on weekends by locals. Its restaurant has tasty food, but it is very expensive. There are also many alternative options for eating and drinking that are very close to the hotel. The lobby itself is considered to be intensely aesthetically pleasing, and the staff is well dressed and manicured. The attitude of the staff is mixed, as some people are very nice and helpful, but others are snobby.

Insider notes: Many guests suggest reserving a room that does not face the street, because it gets very noisy at all hours of the day and night. Guests should be aware that there is no marquee to enter the hotel, so they need to go into the building and take an escalator upstairs to find the lobby.
