Despite its prestigious name, some complain that the Plaza is very overpriced. A common complaint is that the restaurants in the actual hotel are considered way too expensive, but since it is New York City, there are countless other options in proximity to please your hunger. Not all are satisfied by the help and the housekeeping, and perceive the staff as being a bit cold. Because of the renovations, all of the rooms facing Central Park have been closed off for private residencies. The rooms themselves are elegant and have comfortable beds, and the bathrooms were very exquisitely designed. However, while the rooms are clean overall, some guests say the carpets have stains.
